Coupon ladies who lunch...

I had the nicest lunch yesterday. Jennifer from Coupon Mommie, a fellow Maryville girl, invited me to a lunch with a number of "real" coupon bloggers in the area (as opposed to my little hobby here). I currently follow all of their blogs, but it was fun to put faces with names. Sitting there listening to them talk about couponing, blogging, and the like, I felt a bit like a Kindergartner in a calculus class, but everyone was exceedingly lovely and gracious. I highly recommend you follow their blogs, as they will keep you up-to-date on events and deals in the Knoxville/Maryville area.

At lunch I met:
Ali from KnoxMoms.com
Gabrielle from Couponing in Critical Times
Jennifer from Coupon Mommie
Kathryn from Knoxville on a Dime
Katie from Coupon Katie
Margaret from Blue Frog Creations
Melissa from Frugalissa Finds

Thanks, girls, for inviting me along!

Coupon + Contest at The Market in Maryville

I love coupons, I love contests, and I LOVE local businesses. I'm excited when I get the chance to combine all three, so I can't wait to stop by The Market in Maryville to use this coupon for free cream cheese, thanks to EastTN Rewards. Not only is it good for FREE cream cheese (with purchase of hot pepper jelly), but if you write your name and phone number on it before redeeming, you'll be entered to win 2 tickets to Cirque de Chine and a $50 gift card to Hot Rods! The drawing is September 8, so make sure and use the coupon before that date.

I love The Market. It's such a lovely addition to our community! I'm going to try to post more of their specials and events in the days to come...

Blount Discount Books: Everything's $1

I love Blount Discount Books, located at 370 Gill St in Alcoa (near Subs N Such, and across from where Gingerly Dressed used to be).  Unfortunately, like so many of my favorites, they're going out of business. They're currently having a going-out-of-business sale where everything in the store is $1, and they have some fantastic books! We gorged ourselves on children's books, and my husband found some interesting theology books. Make sure you check it out before they close their doors on September 11!

$10 coupon for Beauty and the Beast Blu-ray Combo Pack!

I LOVE Beauty and the Beast. It's my favorite Disney movie ever. (Actually, it may be a tie with The Princess and the Frog after daily doses of that movie, courtesy of my daughter.)  I can't wait for the Blu-ray release. It's very timely, since our minivan recently ate our existing copy. Disney Movie Rewards currently has a $10 coupon for the new Blu-ray edition. All you have to do is log in to your account and enter the UPC from your existing copy of the movie. If you don't have one, Coupon Mommie has graciously listed a code here! I think I'm going to reserve a copy at Toys-R-Us in hopes that they'll have a great deal like the one they had on Princess & the Frog.

Oh, and if you're wondering what to do with the extra, non-Blu-ray DVD that's included in the combo pack, apparently a lot of people keep that copy in their car, which I think is a great idea!

Thanks, Coupon Mommie!

House Party: Fisher Price Perfect Play Date

I recently found out that I was selected for the House Party: Fisher Price Perfect Play Date party, and I'm super excited! What is House Party, you may ask?

House Party seems like an easy concept to describe, but every time I try I just confuse people. So here's how the people at House Party describe what they are:
A House Party™ is thousands of parties happening across the country on a single day, hosted by people just like you. Each event is sponsored by a leading brand and focuses on something cool–like a new product, hit TV show, or great cause–that the sponsor wants its best fans to experience firsthand and share with their friends. (Check out some of our recent events.)
You host. Everyone wins. House Party lets you share the stuff you like with the people you like, through a fantastic, free party experience. What's the catch? There is none: Our partners understand that if they share something good with the right people in a fun way, we'll all help spread the word.

As a Fisher Price House Party host I'll be receiving 5 new Fisher Price toys which I'll be donating to our church nursery. We have a monthly coffee for moms and I'll be passing out all the House Party/ Fisher Price goodies during that event. I'm so excited! House Party is such a fun company.
